Carrera 2447
The Heuer Carrera was launched in 1963, soon after the Autavia making it the second named watch in the Heuer line-up. The Carrera 2447 has a simple three register dial with inner chapter ring and elegant 36mm diameter case housing a Valjoux 72 movement. Two executions covered a period of 7 years the first having plain steel applied hour markers and plain steel hands and the second with shorter steel markers with coloured inset with matching steel hands. The case remained the same throughout its life with early examples having a hex type back and Ed Heuer signed movement. A number of dial variations where produced including a single shade of white/silver or black as well as contrasting subregisters and scales (tachymeter, decimal and pulsation) printed on the dial.
