Carrera Barrel case

The 1153/1553 case was revised in 1974 with the launch of the barrel case. The overall design changed substantially incorporating a mineral crystal & covered lugs and it appears shorter, wider and thicker on the wrist, thus the barrel reference. Dial variations included blue, fume, gold and black which are the outstanding feature of these watches. The top case has a brushed finish and the sides are polished. Lug width is 20mm and a new, more modern link bracelet was an option.
